Hiring Range: $65,616-$87,492 annually
Help change the world and improve the lives of North Dakota citizens by supporting mission critical applications affecting hundreds of thousands of users throughout the state.  North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) is seeking an Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Admin for our Technology Division.

As an ITS Admin you will be part of a team responsible in the design, implementation, day-to-day operations, and support of North Dakota Department of Transportation’s Intelligent Transportation System.

In this role you will:
• Administer, manage, and troubleshoot hardware and software such as ITS, radio, and network systems
• Monitor and analyze performance metrics for network, ITS, and radio infrastructure
• Facilitate, coordinate, and manage incident response across one of more products and/or vendors
• Use tactful, diplomatic communications abilities to share highly technical information to technical and non-technical audiences 
• Support the demands for Intelligent Transportation Systems for NDDOT and be involved in both transportation related constructions projects and steady state work.

This position will require travel to sites across the state (including some overnights) when necessary, as well as some outdoor and after-hours work. Must have a valid driver’s license.


The right candidate will be excited to manage an effort of continuous improvement that exceeds customer expectation while reaching for World Class IT service delivery. They will help the agency drive innovation thru monitoring and evaluating emerging technologies to determine impact on services and feasibility of implementation.

To be considered for the ITS Admin role, you must have:

A Bachelors degree in computer science, Management Information Systems or a closely related area and 1 year of related, progressive work experience with electronic technologies and with supporting, administering and implementing complex enterprise servers and applications. Experience maintaining fiber optic cabling is strongly preferred.

OR an Associate degree and 3 years of current and progressive work experience with electronic technologies and with supporting, administering and implementing complex enterprise servers and applications. Experience maintaining fiber optic cabling is strongly preferred.

OR 4 years of current and progressive work experience as listed above.
