Hiring Salary: $4,163-$5,550 per month plus a competitive benefits package including a paid family health insurance plan, paid leave (annual leave, sick leave, and 10 paid holidays), retirement plan options, tuition reimbursement, work-life balance/flexibility, an infant-at-work program, and more.

This position is a Monday-Friday day position that is in the Bismarck Office and is eligible for remote work on a hybrid schedule.

*Position to start on or after June 10, 2024.

Summary of Work

 

The Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll and related functions. This position is the agency contact for ND State OMB and Bank of North Dakota.   Monitoring and managing multiple bank accounts, reconciling general ledger accounts.  Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with the processing of weekly payments.
  • Creating and processing sales invoices and statements.
  • Processing manual payment requests.
  • Entering pay and deduction adjustments.
  • Processing team member hires, changes, and terminations.
  • Monitoring and managing team member time reporting, leave requests, and necessary training.
  • Monitoring team member benefit elections.
  • Providing education on team member benefits.

Minimum Qualifications

 
  • Associates Accounting, Human Resources, or Business degree.
  • At least three years of related work experience in accounting or payroll are required.
  • Additional education may substitute for the required work experience on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

 
  • Confident, articulate, and professional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively, professionally, and courteously with others both internal and external to the organization.
  • Working experience with NDPERS benefits.
  • The use of PeopleSoft and Absence Management systems.
