Northeast Human Service Center - Grand Forks, ND - Addiction Counselor

**HIRING SIGN ON BONUS up to 10,000!**

As an Addiction Counselor, you will provide individuals opportunity for recovery management so they can live and work independently in their home community. 

In a typical week, you will complete level of care screenings and assist in developing integrated service plans. You will provide short-term individual, family, and group counseling. You will provide crisis intervention and risk assessments in the office, in the community and on-call. Also, you will provide education and consult to families, community, interns, and residents.

You will thrive in this position if you are committed to a rehabilitative and person-centered philosophy and comfortable providing services in homes and communities. Services are provided in homes and communities, and therefore, travel is a norm.

To be considered for this position, you are required to have one of the following:

  • Addiction Counselor - Requires a bachelor’s degree in Addiction Counseling, Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling or Psychology, AND current licensure as an Addiction Counselor by the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners. 
  • Addiction Tech - Must have completed all but two academic courses required for the addiction counseling field in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program, this includes Addiction Counseling, Addiction Studies, Social Work, Counseling or Psychology.  Individuals in this class must complete all coursework, training, and/or tests and obtain an addiction counselor license from the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners within two years of the date hired.

This position requires a valid driver’s license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.

Location: ND HHS utilizes a blended workplace model. This position provides essential client services face to face and therefore the person in this position needs to be able to travel to meet clients at their location.
